English is WEIRD!

Happy Friday! I just wanted to share this little gem that was pinned on ASHA’s ‘Bilingualism’ board (on Pinterest) a few weeks ago. Although this graphic relays information that is especially pertinent for our students who are learning English as a second language, it is also interesting to consider when thinking about all of our kiddos who struggle with communication. For most of us, speech and language develop naturally and relatively easily, but if you stop to consider the nuances and idiosyncrasies of the English language, it really is a miracle any of us figure it out! 🙂
